The model contains a complex scalar field with a chiral Yukawa coupling to fermions. Below the chiral symmetry breaking scale, integrating out the gapped bulk modes produces a gravitational Chern-Simons coupling which, we argue, modifies cosmic string solutions from the phase transition.
