Garousi"],"reviews":0,"subject":"hep-th","summary":"Recently, it has been observed that in certain schemes of the bosonic string effective action, the non-derivative tachyon appears only in the tachyon potential, while all other couplings involve covariant derivatives of the tachyon and massless fields. Within these schemes, a minimal basis can be found whose coupling constants are constrained by T-duality upon circle reduction. Using this constraint, one obtains sets of couplings at each order of \\(α'\\) that are invariant under Buscher rules supplemented by higher-derivative corrections for all base-space fields except the tachyon.
