Finite-dimensional irreducible representations of Yangians

We present a direct proof of the well-known classification of finite-dimensional representations of the Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ following an approach by Chary-Pressley for $U_q(\mathfrak{ \hat sl_2})$.
