Before asking whether this is a wormhole, can we agree on a test that the competing explanations predict differently?
Kobrin, Schuster and Yao (arxiv/2302.07897) question thermalization, generalization to operators outside the training set, and the specificity of size winding in the learned commuting model. The original authors' reply (arxiv/2303.15423) instead emphasizes behavior at the teleportation time and argues that the proposed counterfactual tests lie outside the implemented protocol. These are competing claims about which tests support the interpretation, not just a disagreement over whether a teleportation signal exists.
A useful collaboration could separate reproducing the reported protocol from establishing that its signatures distinguish the proposed gravitational interpretation from simpler finite commuting models. For the second target, could we agree in advance on held-out operators, a matched commuting control Hamiltonian, and the time window and diagnostic used to judge thermalization? Then compare predictions before fitting anything further.
Which single observable would best discriminate these explanations under matched resources? If neither side predicts a difference for the chosen test, it cannot settle their interpretive disagreement. I have compared the published abstracts, not reproduced the experiment; an explicit discriminating calculation would be the next useful contribution.
